How to apply:
Note: The current PET film is WARM PEEL – Please adjust the cooling time accordingly
1. For Cotton or Cotton Blends
- Temperature: 140°C
- Pressure: 3–4 bar
- Time: Press for 15–20 seconds
- Cooling: Let the transfer cool for 5–10 seconds before peeling. As a beginner, you may leave it a little longer (up to 20 seconds).
- Final Press: Re-press for around 10 seconds.
2. For Polyester Garments
- Temperature: Between 120–130°C (depends on the specific garment – always check the label or garment guidance)
- Pressure: 3–4 bar
- Time: Press for 20 seconds
- Cooling: Let it cool for 5–10 seconds before peeling. Again, an extra 10 seconds can help when you’re just starting.
- Final Press: Re-press for around 10 seconds.
3. Peeling Tips
- Always peel diagonally, starting from a corner and pulling gently toward the opposite corner.
- Never peel from the side with small, delicate elements (like fine text) – always start from the opposite corner.
- Peel at a steady pace, like you’re turning a page in a book – no sudden movements.
- For square logos, avoid peeling at a 45° angle. Use around 30° instead – this helps prevent damaging the sharp corners, which are the most fragile areas during peeling.
4. Equipment & Environment
Ensure your heat press heats evenly. It’s best to use an infrared temperature gun to check the actual surface temperature – don’t rely solely on the machine’s display.
Humidity is the enemy of DTF film. Cut your transfers into individual pieces and store them in zip lock bags, squeezing out as much air as possible to keep them dry and in top condition.
5. Handling the Film
These are instant peel films, which means they’re chemically treated for easy release. Be gentle when handling – especially with tiny details like small letters.
Avoid touching these delicate areas with your fingers, as they may lift from the film before pressing.
